Once Upon a Time … In Hollywood

“Don’t cry in front of the Mexicans”

One of Tarantino’s best, this is such a great low-key and hilarious movie with far less bombast than most of his oeuvre — although DiCaprio is the star power here, it’s Brad Pitt’s movie.

“Under the circumstances, your privileges are reinstated immediately”

This cinematic universe just doesn’t get old or tire in any way — despite the story feeling a little underdeveloped, the world, the lore, the fighting techniques, are all getting more complex, better, and just way more fun.

“We should have dug deeper than a grave.”

A truly great film, still considered to be one of the best of all time, and for good reason — it’s a masterpiece, and while the score doesn’t jive well with me, it’s certainly a giant in the movie canon.

John Wick: Chapter 2 4

“You stabbed the devil in the back and forced him back into the life that he had just left.”

The John Wick series is so much fun, and while each subsequent movie gets a bit sillier, the fight choreography, Jiu-Jitsu, and gun-fights get more over the top and more exciting.

“You see, Jason was my son, and today is his birthday…”

Iconic but everything about the movie is tired in 2019, despite a few great shots and a great twist, this doesn’t hold up to our modern sensibilities.
