“Even the worst blowjob is better than say, sniffing the greatest rose, or watching the greatest sunset.”
Falls a little flat in comparison to the book, but it’s a fun story about sex, love, and everything in-between, but mostly sex.

“This time travel crap, just fries your brain like a egg…”
A great time travel movie and a thinking-man’s blockbuster; not as good as Johnson’s last and (IMO) perfect Brothers Bloom, but a great film that’s meticulously planned to within an inch of it’s life which makes the world feel real and lived-in.

“I only had sex with her because I’m in love with you.”
Read the book, loved it. Meant a lot when I was 18. Saw the film, liked it, not nearly as much as the book. Movie felt real at 19, hammy at 25. Feels overplayed, even after unrequited love, after acid trips in the snow, and coming on an Irish girl’s tits. Felt bad, I like Bret Ellis. Want to read the book again. Took screenshots, wrote review, jacked off in the shower, posted it.

“Don’t be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.”
Clooney is charming as he struggles with his two daughters home from school and his wife in a coma, trying to come to terms with what he should do with the idyllic land he’s inherited — sweet and complicated, it captures the tiny moments that make everything worthwhile even when facing difficult circumstances.

“If you ride like lightning, you’re going to crash like thunder.”
A ballsy movie, a generational epic, intimately told with a wild twist I never expected when walking into the cinema; it’s got thrilling action and close low-key drama — a great movie.
