Whilst some shots were incredibly beautiful, Scott excised most of what made the book such a triumph (though it was great to see it brought to the screen) — miscast every which way, it needed to be about twenty minutes longer.

Fucking incredible, a film for grown-ups, taught, sparse, and tense — it’s cerebral never giving you the whole story and completely disguising the truth with just enough action to keep the whole family interested, all whilst being one of the best-looking films of 2015.
