"As you go along you realise that whole concept of 'growing up' — you're not all 'grown up' until they put you six feet under.  You're never 'grown up.'"

I love the Rolling Stones, so to take a look back at the most interesting member of the band who perhaps contributed most to their sound was fascinating; he's eloquent, has great stories, and a chequered past — what more could you want?

"Life teaches you how to live it if you live long enough."

Dark, so dark — a tragic story that shouldn't have been allowed to happen; a biopic documentary with incredibly intimate home video footage.

"In sports you should play fair. In war, you shouldn't play fair at all."

An excellent and eye opening documentary, perhaps the best 'informative' documentary I've seen, and proves with testimony and lab results that every one at a high enough level is doping — there's just too much (money/fame/pride/ego) at stake for athletes to not do everything in their power to improve, and how hiding those facts about people in the public eye damages so many people's lives.

"There is no peace at the end of this, no matter what you believe."

I was too young to appreciate this when I first watched it, but it's a slow burn period spy drama that whilst good could use a bit of tightening up.

"This might be an adventure, and I've never had one before - outside of books, at least."

With a quirky style, completely unexpected from Scorsese, it's gorgeous, about filmmaking, curiosity, and invention — one of the few films I enjoyed in 3D.
