"I don't hear anything... only silence."

Contrary to all critics out there, I quite enjoyed this film, though it had wasted potential — it couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a complex thriller or a jump-scare slasher flick — the central premise is fascinating and terrifying, and is worth a watch just for how surprisingly well the photography is done on an ultra-low budget.

"Sugar has become so prevalent in today's society that if you removed all the items containing it from a standard supermarket's shelves, just 20% of items would remain."

While I agree wholeheartedly with it's thesis and am currently on a ketogenic diet, it was a tedious watch based on a poorly constructed experiment — you'll get everything you would watching the film from the trailer.

"I remember for one fleeting second thinking well maybe it's an insanity test. Maybe if we believe this they kick you out."

It's absolutely wild that such an organisation exists, less so that desperate individuals are drawn to it, but it's incredible to see the lunacy behind the religion.

"You're scared of Room 237, ain't ya?"

I like The Shining as much as anyone, and this is a fascinating look inside the mind of Kubrick — at least theories of what's in the mind of the genius director; there are many theories put forward and while they're all interesting most of them ring false despite just enough evidence to the contrary — a warning against over-interpretation.

"We all have a stake in this, this is our country and the balance of power between the citizenry and the government is becoming that of the ruling and the ruled as opposed to actually, you know, the elected and the electorate."

This might be the craziest documentary I'm covering this week; the NSA leaks were by far the biggest news story of my generation, one that has and will impact billions of people, and the meeting was captured on film — crazy.
