The Man from UNCLE

The Man from UNCLE Still

“For a special agent, you’re not having a very special day, are you?”

Has it’s problems, but is so much fun — a wild ride with interesting characters that all play off each other very well; here’s hoping for a sequel.

“Your biggest problem is you think you shouldn’t have them. ‘Cause problems are what make us grow. Problems are what sculpt our soul. Problems are what make us become more.”

Heartbreaking and inspiring often in the same moments, it’s a powerful documentary that’ll make you want to change your life, and shows just how transformative Tony can be.

Evil Dead (2013)

“You’re all going to die tonight.”

I was expecting this remake of the cult horror movie to be a total wash, but it was fun, gory, and the acting and writing was solid — Jane Levy in particular was great fun.

Le Samouraï

“He’s a wounded wolf; now there will be a trail.”

Delightful, Delon is a cold and stone-faced assassin with a code, the sets are empty and elegant, it’s incredibly cool in a sociopathic kind of way, smart, detached, and calm even when under fire while it effortlessly builds to a spectacularly convoluted plot that ends in a crescendo that no-one has a firm grasp on fifty years later.

Disorder

Disorder Maryland Still

“If this goes wrong, do you have a place to go?”

Haunting and incredibly complex, Winocour makes us paranoid, and the action, though infrequent, is bloody and brutal and explosive.
