Bittersweet, a warm and brilliant film that highlights the barriers between technology and human relationships, and acts as a fable of independence at the risk of kinship; sometimes on the nose, sometimes incredibly subtle, it’s Reitman’s best, and the talented and beautiful Farmiga dazzles, and George Clooney is as charming as ever.

What a long way John McClane has come — the character Bruce Willis plays in this doesn’t resemble the character in the first three films in this franchise; AGDTDH is almost parody while being almost no fun at all.

A subtle but wonderful film, slow and deliberate filmmaking following it’s subjects working tirelessly trying to decipher riddles, this feels much more like real policework than the grander Se7en; interestingly not shot by Jeff Cronenweth and it shows, but still tirelessly beautiful and oozes San Francisco.
