Nolan has always been idea over execution but he misses both marks with TDKR; the production value alone stops it from dropping too far and it’s still a spectacle, but empty and egregious in it’s use of convenient storytelling outs — it feels like a contractual obligation, which after reading about the behind the scenes of this sequel, sounds about right.
